Two teams sitting on opposite sides of the Western Conference are clashing, when the league leaders Seattle Storm (25-8), who have clinched the first place in the upcoming playoffs, are hosting the second-worse in the West Dallas Wings (15-18), who secured the 8th and final playoff spot in their previous game.

Date/Time: 08-19-2018 19:00 EDT

Spread: Seattle Storm -7.5

Total: +174.5

Seattle Storm have a 25-8 record (20-12-1 against the spread) so far this season and have secured the first place both of the West and of the whole league. They have won seven of their last eight matches and in their last game they won at home against the New York Liberty with an 85-77 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Breanna Stewart with 22 ppg, adding a team high 8.6 boards per game. She is followed by Jewell Loyd with 15.8 ppg, 4.7 boards and 3.8 dimes per game, while Natasha Howard adds 13.5 ppg and 6.5 boards per game.

Dallas Wings have a 15-18 record (16-16-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the second to last place of the West. In their last game they snapped a nine-game losing streak by winning at home against the Las Vegas Aces with a 107-102 score. They are led in scoring by Liz Cambage with 23.4 ppg, adding a team high 9.8 boards per game. She is followed by Skylar Diggins-Smith with 18.3 ppg, 3.4 boards and a team high 6.3 dimes per game, while Kayla Thornton adds 9.3 ppg and 4.1 boards per game.

Seattle have won both previous meetings against Dallas earlier this season (at home by 7 points and on the road by 21). Seattle are 12-4 at home this season, while Dallas are 5-11 on the road. Both teams have almost identical offenses, being second and third-best in the league with 87.3 and 87.2 ppg, while Seattle are better defensively, allowing 80 ppg to Dallas’ 85.4. Seattle have the best percentages in the league both in field goals (46.8% to 44.4%) and in 3-pointers (37.3% to 30.8%). They are also better in assists made (21.2 to 18.2) and in turnovers committed (13.3 to 14.3), while Dallas are only better in rebounding (36.8 to 35.2). Seattle are the absolute favorite and Vegas odds give them a -7.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for another victory against Dallas this season.
