In this battle between two squads that had opposite courses in the 2017 season, the Connecticut Sun, who made it to the second round of the playoff before getting eliminated by the Phoenix Mercury, are hosting the Las Vegas Aces, who were known until last season as the San Antonio Stars and were the team with the worst record in the 2017 WNBA season.  WNBA Las Vegas Aces vs Connecticut Sun Spread and Prediction.

Date/Time:  05-20-2017 13:00 EDT

Spread: Connecticut Sun -15.5

Total: +154.5

Connecticut Sun finished last season with a 21-13 record (20-14 against the spread). Connecticut placed second in the Eastern Conference standings.  And the Sun had the 4th overall mark in the league as a whole. In the playoffs they got eliminated by Phoenix Mercury in the second round with an 83-88 score. They were led in scoring by Jonquel Jones with 15.4 ppg, who also added a league-best 11.9 rebounds per game. She was followed by Alyssa Thomas with 14.8 ppg, 6.8 rebounds and a team high of 147 total assists, while Jasmine Thomas added 14.2 ppg and a total of 139 assists.

San Antonio finished last season with an 8-26 record (18-15-1 ATS) . However, their record was the worst of any WNBA franchise.   They closed last season with a road win against the Fever, ending a four-game losing streak. San Antonio were led in scoring by Kayla McBride with 15.4 ppg, adding 4.1 rebounds per game. She was followed by Isabelle Harrison with 11.4 ppg and a team high 6.4 rebounds per game, while Moriah Jefferson added 9.1 ppg and a total of 92 assists.

Sun won all three meetings against the Aces last season, winning at home with an 89-75 score. Sun were 12-5 at home last season, while Aces were the worse road team with a 2-15 record. The Sun had the second-best offense last season, scoring 86 ppg to Aces’ league-low of 74.4, while both teams were almost equal defensively, allowing 81.3 and 81.6 ppg.

Club Sun had better percentages both in field goals, shooting with 44.8% to Aces’ 42.9% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 36.5% to Aces’ 33.3%. They were also better in rebounding (36.7 to 33.3) and in turnovers committed (12.5 to 16.4), while both teams made the same number of assists (17.8 to 17.5). Sun have been superior to the Aces last season and Vegas odds give them a -15.5 spread and expect them to beat those odds for an easy home victory today.

Las Vegas Aces vs Connecticut Sun Prediction: Connecticut Sun -15.5 (-108)
