The two worse teams of the Western Conference are clashing tonight, when the last Dallas Wings (14-18), who are on a free fall having lost their last nine games, are hosting the second-worse Las Vegas Aces (14-17), who want to extend a small winning streak of their own.

Date/Time: 08-17-2018 20:00 EDT

Spread: Dallas Wings -2.5

Total: +173.5

Dallas Wings have a 14-18 record (16-16 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the last place of the Western Conference. They have nine consecutive losses and in their last game they lost on the road against the Connecticut Sun with a 76-96 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Liz Cambage with 22.8 ppg, adding a team high 9.7 boards per game. She is followed by Skylar Diggins-Smith with 18.2 ppg, 3.4 boards and a team high 6.2 dimes per game, while Kayla Thornton adds 9.3 ppg and 4.1 boards per game.

Las Vegas Aces have a 14-17 record (16-15 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the second to last place of the West. They have back-to-back wins and in their last game they won at home against the New York Liberty with an 85-72 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by A’ja Wilson with 20.2 ppg, adding a team high 8.1 boards per game. She is followed by Kayla McBride with 18.6 ppg, 3.9 boards and 3.2 dimes per game, while Tamera Young adds 10 ppg and 5.2 boards per game.

Dallas have won both previous meetings against Las Vegas so far this season (at home by 10 points and on the road by 6). Dallas are 9-7 at home this season, while Las Vegas are 6-9 on the road. Dallas are better both offensively, scoring a third-best of 86.6 ppg to Las Vegas’ 84.1 and defensively, allowing a third-worse of 84.9 ppg to Las Vegas’ second-worse of 86.2. Las Vegas have a better 3-point percentage (34.8% to 30.5%), while both teams have almost identical field goal percentage (44.3% and 44%) and grab almost the same number of boards per game (37.1 and 36.7). Las Vegas are better both in assists made (19.8 to 18.1) and in turnovers committed (12.9 to 14.4). Dallas are struggling mightily right now and while Vegas odds give them a -2.5 spread, don’t expect them to beat the odds and pick Las Vegas for the road victory tonight.
