Belgium fought really hard against France in the semi-final, but eventually bowed down to their opponents. They will now play their final match of this World Cup on Saturday, when they will clash against England for the 3rd spot. England forced their match against Croatia in the extra time, but conceded the only goal there. This is the second somewhat indifferent match between these two sides in this World Cup.

Date/Time: 7-14-2018, 10:00 EDT

Spread: Belgium -0.25

Total: 3 Goals

Belgium were not very good in the semi-final against France, as they were unable to break the opposing defenses. It was a very ugly first half for Belgium, who only created three scoring chances with a single shot on target. France were much more active, but despite creating 11 scoring chances, only two shots were on target. France hit early in the second half, when Umtiti got a header from Fellaini and scored a nice goal. Belgium were much better in the second half, but were again unable to score a goal. It was the first time they remained score-less in the competition, and it cost them. Belgium will now fight for the third spot in order to not leave empty-handed.

On the other hand, England tried really hard to bring it home this time, but were bested by Croatia. That match was an emotional rollercoaster, as England made a great start. They took the lead at the 5th minute with Trippier, in what was a really dull first half. Both teams were really careful, and only risked so much. Croatia were much better than England in the second half, and managed to pull even at the 68th minute with Perisic. The match eventually ended as a 1-1 draw, and went to extra time. It all looked like it would go to the penalty shoot-out, but Croatia scored a golden goal at the 109th minute with Mandzukic. England will be feeling really disappointed about their run, but it was a very promising one.

Both teams are expected to make a lot of changes in the starting line-ups for this match. We will surely see some new faces in the pitch, and everyone will try to do their best. Players with not a lot of playing time will try to shine with this opportunity.

Of course the prestige of the third spot in the World Cup is something to play for. Both teams will actually chase the result here. There is no reason for any of the two to be ultra defensive, so I will gladly take the Over 3 Goals here.
