The time for the biggest soccer event in the world is coming our way this Sunday. France and Croatia have both come a long way in order to be in the World Cup final. Two undefeated teams will fight for supremacy on Sunday, and the title is theirs to take. France did not play a very pretty match against Belgium but managed to succeed. Croatia almost stumbled against England but also managed to go through. This is the event that the world has been waiting for.

Spread: France -0.5

Total: 2 Goals

France did a pretty solid job defensively against Belgium, as they did not allow them to create many scoring chances. Belgium only recorded three scoring chances in the first half, with just a single shot on target. France were creating one chance after the other but also struggled to get shots on target. It was not a very pretty first half, but France got lucky in the start of the second. Central defender Umtiti beat Fellaini on the air and took the lead with a nice header at the 51st minute. Belgium were much better in the second half, but France kept control of the match. They were threatened on very few occasions, but eventually managed to hold on to their lead.

On the other hand, Croatia did not make a very good start in the semi-final against England. Their opponents managed a very early lead at the 5th minute, when Trippier scored a direct free kick. Croatia did try to pull even, but they were mediocre in the first half. It was in the second half where they really took off, and aventually pulled even at the 68th minute. They were eaily holding on to the draw, and the two teams eventually went to extra time. Despite the accumulative fatigue from three straight matches with extra time, Croatia were better. They destroyed England in both ends of the pitch, and scored a much-deserved winning goal at the 109th with Mandzukic.

France will have a single injury concern here, as midfielder Blaise Matuidi is considered as questionable due to a rib injury. Croatia will also have a couple of injury concerns themselves ahead of this match. Ivan Strinic and Ivan Perisic are both considered as game-time decision, as they are both dealing with injuries.

The two teams last met in a EURO Cup match for the group stage at 2004, where they split the points in a 2-2 draw. More importantly, they also met in the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup. France won that match by 1-2 and went on to win the trophy. Croatia have been really good so far, and despite the fatigue, they just might be able to at least hold out for a draw. But I will go with the Over 2 Goals here, as we can easily see at least two of them if there is an early goal.
