2020 World Series Odds: Dodgers, Yanks Remain Co-Favorites

Last Updated on

There are still plenty of obstacles, but it appears that we will get a 60-game Major League Baseball season this year. The Caesars Sports Book has just released their updated 2020 World Series odds, and the LA Dodgers and New York Yankees are holding steady as +350 co-favorites. Other notables on the board include the Houston Astros at 11-to-1 and the defending champion Washington Nationals at 18-to-1.

Early reports suggest that the 60-game schedule will be comprised of ten games against each opponent in your division, plus four games against each team in your geographic location from the opposite league. For example, the New York Yankees will play the Red Sox, Rays, Orioles and Blue Jays ten times (40 total games), then play the Mets, Phillies, Nationals, Braves and Marlins four times (20 total games).

Major League Baseball’s Andrew Simon wrote a piece on what kind of results a 60-game season would have created over the last decade. The last two National League pennant winners would have missed the playoffs. The Mariners would have made the playoffs three times in the last eight years. Instead of the seven-year streak that they are currently on, the Dodgers would have lost the NL West four times.
